In his memory, our family will continue supporting causes that reflect what he valued most in life. Every act of charity given in his name is a continuation of his legacy, and every prayer offered for him is a gift that reaches him.

Family Heritage

The ancestral roots of our family stretch back to the Hijaz region, specifically to present-day Mecca and Medina, where our ancestors on my father's side originated. As descendants of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, we hold the esteemed title of Sayeds. During the reign of Emperor Akbar, our forefathers migrated to Delhi via Iraq and served as respected Qazis in the Mughal court — a position equivalent to chief justices. They were well-educated in Islamic law and the Hanafi Madhab fiqh, which later led to their appointment as Qazis of the Jessore/Khulna suba (province).

The Mughals gifted them a vast piece of land, which they used to establish the grand village of Paigaam Kasbah. This village, approximately 450 years old, was the first Muslim settlement in the region. Our family's legacy includes the high school, graveyard, and masjid property, all under the Kazi family waqf.

My father, Kazi Sayed Anwarul Haque, was a civil servant who retired as the postmaster general. He was a man of strong principles and integrity, who valued women's education and independence.
